Neshaminy Creek wins gold at World Beer Cup

The Croydon-based brewing company was recognized for its Warehouse Lager

Neshaminy Creek Brewing Company was awarded gold for its Warehouse Lager on May 5, at the 2022 World Beer Cup, a global beer competition that evaluates beers from around the world and recognizes the most outstanding brewers and their beers, by the Brewers Association.

Warehouse Lager (4.5 percent), a Keystone Beer at Neshaminy Creek and part of its year-round core lineup, took first place out of 231 entries in the International Pilsener or International Lager category. It’s a pale golden Mexican-style lager with a clean, grainy malt character with a subtle sweetness and a crisp, dry finish with a whisper of German noble hops. It’s available in cans and on draft at Neshaminy Creek’s taprooms in Croydon, New Hope and Dublin, as well as bottle shops throughout Pennsylvania, New Jersey, Delaware and Maryland, including major retailers like ShopRite, Giant and Wegmans.

Returning after cancellation in 2020 due to the pandemic, the 2022 Beer Cup, held in Minneapolis, Minnesota, was the largest competition to date, with 10,542 entries from 2,493 breweries representing 57 countries. Entries were evaluated by an elite panel of 226 judges from 28 countries. The Brewers Association has been recognizing individuals who inspire, defend and innovate within the craft brewing industry since 1987, and the awards are widely regarded as the “Olympics of Beer.”

“As we celebrate our 10th anniversary this year, it’s an unbelievable honor to take home the top prize in the fifth most competitive category at the World Beer Cup,” said head brewer Jason Ranck. “We’re so proud of our entire team and extremely thankful to our fans and lager lovers who keep coming back to The Creek for more.”
