Rep. Frank Farry (R-Bucks) is hosting a free paper shredding event on Saturday, May 14, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the parking lot of his Langhorne office, 370 E. Maple Ave., to help residents of the 142nd District guard themselves against identity theft.
“This is a great opportunity for residents to properly dispose of documents containing personal information,” Farry said. “Identity theft is a serious and common threat, but there are steps we can take to help protect ourselves against it.”
Residents are encouraged to bring documents that contain sensitive information, such as Social Security numbers, medical information or bank account numbers, to be thoroughly shredded. Plastic bags will not be accepted during the event. The event is for residents; no businesses. Due to high demand, individuals are limited to two file boxes of paper to be shredded.
Farry’s staff will be on hand during the event to address any state-related issues or questions. Free information on state programs and services will be available.
