Local fourth-graders use music to prepare for PSSAs

The students learned a parody of Pat Benatar’s ‘Hit Me With Your Best Shot’

The Davis Elementary School fourth grade class of Mrs. Mays learned and sang a parody of Pat Benatar’s “Hit Me With Your Best Shot,” entitled “Hit Us With Your Best Shot PSSAs” to principal Mrs. Daniels and vice principal Mr. Marren.

The song was written and performed to lower test anxiety while encouraging self confidence. One stanza says, “We trained all year and have no fear. Mrs. Mays says we’re in the clear. PSSAs, you have no clue because we know just what to do!”
