Langhorne Council for the Arts announced some current and upcoming happenings regarding the organization:
Limited edition tile ornaments
Two limited edition handmade tile ornaments were commissioned to mark Edward Hicks’ birthplace. A lion and lamb ornament are available to decorate homes year round, or as a special ornament for the Christmas tree. Cost is $25 each; proceeds benefit the LCA Student Scholarship Fund and other arts events in the community. Email [email protected] for ordering information.
Annual LCA membership meeting and scholarship awards
If you are a member of LCA, if you’re thinking about becoming a member, or if you just want to know more about LCA, you’re invited to the annual membership meeting on Friday, May 13, at 7 p.m. at the Anna Mary Williamson Library/Museum on the corner of W. Maple and Hill avenues. Information will be shared about the organization and plans for the upcoming year. Additionally, the 2022 scholarship award recipients will be honored. Light refreshments will be served.
Flea market
The Colonial Market at the recent Hicks Day was a success, but there’s still some “fleas” left over. Come to the LCA table at the Flea Market at Langhorne Heritage Farm on Saturday, May 14. Prices will be slashed on lots of goodies, with proceeds benefiting the LCA Scholarship Fund and community arts events.
Langhorne Memorial Day Parade
Girls and women of all ages are invited to join the Women’s Brigade in the Langhorne Memorial Day Parade on Monday, May 30. Wearing white was the tradition when women marched 100 years ago, so white is encouraged for those joining the Brigade. LCA would love to have Girl Scouts, youth groups and school students join. Email [email protected] to let LCA know if you’d like to join.
