Enjoy a movie, a Ted Circle and more in May

The Township Library of Lower Southampton, 1983 Bridgetown Pike in Feasterville, announced the following upcoming events:

Registration for “Science in the Summer” Lottery: Monday, May 9, at 9 a.m. Join for fabulous fish, prehistoric prints and handsome hummingbirds. Registration lottery runs through June 3, at 5 p.m. This summer, be a biologist. In partnership with the Franklin Institute, Science in the Summer is a fun, free STEM program that aims to inspire the next generation of scientists. Open to students in grades 2-6. Register at scienceinthesummer.fi.edu.

Chair Yoga with Elda: Tuesday, May 10, at noon, via Zoom. Join for gentle stretches from the comfort of home.

Alzheimer’s Association Lunch and Learn Series, Effective Communication: Wednesday, May 11, at 12:30 p.m. Communication is more than just talking and listening — it’s also about sending and receiving messages through attitude, tone of voice and body language. As the disease progresses, individuals living with Alzheimer’s or other dementias lose the ability to use words, but families can find new ways to connect. Join to explore how communication changes when someone is living with Alzheimer’s, learn how to interpret the verbal and behavioral communication, and identify strategies to help connect and communicate at each stage of the disease. Registration is required here or by calling 800-272-3900.

Ted Circle: Wednesday, May 11, at 6:30 p.m. via Zoom. A link will be emailed to you two hours before the event. Please note that you are being registered for this date and all remaining dates for 2022. If you are no longer interested in attending a program, contact [email protected] to be removed from the list.

Thursday Movie Club: Thursday, May 12, at 10:15 a.m. Join for What’s Up, Doc?. Two researchers have come to San Francisco to compete for a research grant in music. The man seems a bit distracted, and that was before he met a strange woman who has devoted her life to confusing and embarrassing him. At the same time, a woman has her jewels stolen and a government whistleblower arrives with his stolen top secret papers. Directed by the late Peter Bogdanovich. No registration needed. Masks optional. Bring friends and drop in for some popcorn and fun.

Barks and Books: Saturday, May 14, at 11 a.m. Lucy and Jo are visiting for children to read to. Lucy loves to hear stories.
