For the first time since October 2019, WWII, Korean and Vietnam veterans living in Bucks County are heading to Washington D.C. to visit memorials, buildings and other places that promote and represent the ideals of the United States of America. This is all part of the Bucks County Tour of Honor.
Five buses are leaving from Parx East, 2999 Street Road in Bensalem. Registration takes place at approximately 4:30 a.m. and the buses will be on the road by 6 a.m. after a morning ceremony and prayer.
The day includes stops at Arlington National Cemetery at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier for the Changing of the Guard and Wreath Laying Ceremony, Air Force Memorial, Korean War Memorial and World War II Memorial. The trip to D.C. is followed by a “Welcome Home” celebration, dinner and entertainment hosted by Parx Casino, at approximately 6:30 p.m.
This is an all expenses paid trip for veterans. Breakfast, lunch and dinner provided. Guardians are invited to accompany veterans who need assistance. Buses will have extra wheelchairs. JROTC cadets from Pennsbury will join the trip to assist anyone who needs it.
