Delaware Canal clean up

Volunteers tidied up the Bristol Amish Market section

Nearly 200 community volunteers rolled up their sleeves and got dirty earlier this month as they cleaned up the Delaware Canal. This annual event, hosted by the Friends of the Delaware Canal, took place along the almost 60-mile Delaware Canal.

Katie Martens and Gabrielle Lent, of the PA Department of Conservation and Natural Resources, helped to clear trash, debris and brush from the historic waterway and towpath, along with many volunteers, at the Bristol Amish Market section of Clean Up Day.

Following the Clean Up activities, volunteers met at the Lock Tender House in New Hope for a celebration, where Michael Grinder, executive director of the FODC, and Brett Webber, board president, thanked everyone for their hard work as they enjoyed light snacks and drinks.
