Northampton Township announced that its annual spring flushing of fire hydrants and water mains is set for Monday, April 4 through Tuesday, April 26. Visit nbcmatoday.org for a schedule of specific dates flushing will occur in your area.
During this period, residents may notice discoloration in the water or reduced pressure. This should be of short duration. They’re advised to minimize water usage for drinking, cooking and washing clothes while flushing is in progress on these days between the hours of 8:30 a.m. and 4 p.m.
If you experience discolored water, run cold water from a faucet for several minutes until the water runs clear. If discolored water or low pressure persists or if you have questions, call the Municipal Authority office at 215-357-8515.
