New Cobalt Ridge Playground coming to Middletown in August

The new space will have wheelchair access, solitude seats and more

The Cobalt Ridge Playground, located in the greenbelt near the Queen Anne Creek, will be replaced this year.

New playground plans were approved at the Middletown Township board of supervisors meeting on Feb. 7. The new playground has many inclusive features, including wheelchair access, solitude seats designed for children on the autism spectrum, a music feature, expression swings, and new benches and trash cans.

Supervisor Dawn Quirple, who was instrumental in getting this project started, said, “Parks and Recreation Director Paul Kopera and his team did a fantastic job incorporating so many inclusive features. I can’t wait to see everyone come out to the new playground.”
