The Business of Brews & Stills

This event, hosted by the Lower Bucks County Chamber of Commerce, is set for April 7, at The Library Bell Beer Garden

The Lower Bucks County Chamber of Commerce is hosting the economic development conference “The Business of Brews & Stills” on Thursday, April 7, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at The Liberty Bell Beer Garden, Parx Casino, 2999 Street Road, Bensalem.

Learn about “The Craft Beer Movement – An Entrepreneurial Journey & Its Economic Impact in the Lower Bucks County Region.”

– Craft beer movement is driven by consumer demand – worldwide beer market represents $522.3 million, expected growth 9.4 percent thorough 2023
– The craft brewing industry contributed $62.1 billion to the U.S. economy in 2020, more than 400,000 jobs
– As consumers continue to demand a wide range of high quality, full-flavored beers, small and independent craft breweries are meeting this growing demand with innovative offerings, creating high levels of economic value in the process

Plenary speaker is Heather Walter, marketing director, Visit Bucks County. She’ll discuss the Bucks County Ale Trail, which includes 24 breweries with 30 total locations that vary from industrial venues to sprawling farms. These craft beer taprooms and breweries drive tourists to the Bucks County area, generating a high economic impact.

Keynote speaker is Herman C. Mihalich, founder and distiller, Dad’s Hat Rye Whiskey. He’ll discuss bringing rye whiskey back to its historical home in Pennsylvania and building local connections in Bucks County.

The first panel, “The Entrepreneurial Journey,” features Shawn Dulee, co-owner/operations, manager/production, Naked Brewing Company; Maryana Ferguson, co-founder, Great Barn Farm Microbrewery; and Pete Corbett, Sr., head brewer, Iron Hill Brewery & Restaurant.

The second panel, “Manufacturing to Tap Room Expansions,” features Mike LaCouture, co-owner and co-founder, Broken Goblet Brewing, co-owner, Mutual Respect Brewers Co-op; and Jeremy Myers, owner and founder, Trauger Brewing, co-owner, Mutual Respect Brewers Co-op.

At the conclusion of the event, attendees are invited to sample (.1oz) craft beers, wines and spirits. LBCCC is following CDC guidelines. Click here to register.
