Centennial School District is partnering with the Philadelphia Chapter of the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention to offer a districtwide presentation entitled More Than Sad: Suicide Prevention for Parents, on March 3, at 7 p.m. at William Tennent High School.
Parents and guardians can learn to recognize signs of depression and other mental health concerns, initiate a conversation with their children and get them help.
The presenter is Aimee B. Prange, MSW, LCSW, a licensed clinical social worker with over 20 years of experience. She received her master’s degree in social work from the University of Pennsylvania. Over the years, Prange has honed her expertise working with children, adolescents and their families in various clinical settings. Her primary areas of expertise focus on mental health and suicide prevention and intervention. As such, she is passionate about her weekly shifts as a volunteer crisis counselor for the Crisis Text Line and delivering suicide prevention educational programming in her community as a board member for her local chapter of the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention.
Prange has over 15 years of experience as a public speaker and educator. She has delivered a broad list of programs to audiences large and small at the corporate and community level. In addition, Prange is a certified instructor for Mental Health First Aid and is a member of the Motivational Interviewing Network of Trainers. Teaching allows Prange to share her clinical expertise with her love for engaging and inspiring others.
