On Saturday, Feb. 12, the Newtown Athletic Club’s summer camp, Camp NAC, is hosting its annual Open House & Family Fun Day. This event is open to members of the NAC and community. It takes place from 11:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the NAC indoor basketball gym, located at the facility at 120 Pheasant Run in Newtown.
Local families are invited to stop by for a fun-filled afternoon and to experience a day in the life of a Camp NAC camper. At the event, parents and guardians have the opportunity to meet the Camp NAC leadership team, learn more about the new programs available this season and take advantage of camp’s early bird discount.
Children of all ages can participate in games, crafts, activities, inflatable fun and more. There will also be a balloon artist on-site and a variety of giveaways for the whole family.
Enrollment for the 2022 summer camp season is now open. Camp NAC’s early bird discount, 10 percent off camp costs, applies until Saturday, Feb. 19. This one-time offer is available during the Open House & Family Fun Day, where the camp team will be available to help families enroll in camp and guide them through every step of the way.
“We are so excited to welcome both new and returning campers to our annual Open House & Family Fun Day,” said youth and Camp NAC director Brianne Feinour. “We know that choosing a summer camp is a major decision for many families. Hosting this family friendly event gives parents the opportunity to meet our camp team and learn about all of the amazing camps and programs that we offer.”
The team at Camp NAC welcomes new and returning campers to join this summer to create a positive summer experience where they can explore their interests, discover new ones and connect with like-minded individuals.
Camp NAC offers a variety of camp themes and offerings, so no two weeks are the same. Based on the weeks enrolled, parents and campers can custom-build their summer to fulfill their family’s needs and interests.
Specialty camps, such as STEAM, art, cooking and sports, unleash curiosity and new discoveries. This camp season, new specialty camp themes include Coding 101, Robotics, Eat the Rainbow, Ultimate Dodgeball, Jr. Engineers and more. Children can discover their passions, explore something new and create a deeper understanding of different things.
In addition to the specialty camps, another full day option for children ages 3-12 is the popular Camp NACster. This camp is full of variety and is what may come to mind when someone thinks of a traditional day camp program. Each week includes fun activities, such as team games, sports, field trips, arts, crafts, swimming, water play and more.
With full accessibility of the 26-acre NAC campus, including the 4-acre outdoor resort and pool complex, the Camp NAC leadership team looks to provide a safe and unique environment for campers this summer.
