On Saturday, March 26, at 10 a.m., Cairn University’s Run 12:1 running club is hosting the Rock Your Socks 5K at the university, located at 200 Manor Ave. in Langhorne. Wearing crazy socks is a nationally recognized sign of support and awareness for Down syndrome. This 5K, held just days after World Down Syndrome Day, offers a prize for the craziest socks.
You can participate in the timed 5K (which will actually be a 3.21-mile race for the occasion), or just have a fun family outing and show your support in the 1-mile run/walk. Awards are presented for the top three male and female finishers. Participants receive a race-specific T-shirt.
Early registration is $25; day-of registration is $30. High school and college students receive a $10 discount. Register at cairn.edu/run
