During its Jan. 26 meeting, the Northampton Township board of supervisors unanimously approved a bid of over $19 million for the Reading-based E.R. Stueber Inc. to serve as the general contractor of two local fire station construction projects.

The stations in both Richboro and Holland will receive much-needed revamps. According to board chair Adam Selisker, the buildings date to the mid-’60s. He said the new facilities will serve as a “huge leap” in safety improvements for the first responders.

Kim Rose expressed her excitement that the project, which has been under discussion for over a year, can finally get underway.

“A lot of work has gone into getting the best possible prices for this project,” she said.
