PPL Electric Utilities recently donated $10,000 to United Way of Bucks County in support of Pre-K education through the Educational Improvement Tax Credit program.
Pennsylvania’s Educational Improvement Tax Credit program is a way for businesses to enrich educational opportunities for students and earn tax credits by donating to an Educational Improvement Organization.
United Way of Bucks County uses EITC contributions to help low- and moderate-income families with the high cost of Pre-K tuition. Early education and childcare are often the single largest expense for low-income, working families.
“Access to quality early childhood programs is crucial for children and parents working in essential jobs,” said Marissa Christie, president and CEO of United Way of Bucks County. “PPL’s generous EITC support ensures that kids get high quality education in a safe, caring environment. It makes a big difference for families who struggle with the cost of early education and childcare. It is a huge win-win for our community.”
