Bucks County Community College invites the public to join a free virtual forum in honor of Martin Luther King Jr. on Thursday, Jan. 27, at 2:30 p.m.
The one-hour event, held on Zoom, features the screening of the short documentary Voting Rights: Here We Go Again, followed by a discussion about current efforts to suppress voting rights in America. The forum is hosted by Kevin Antoine, J.D., the college’s associate vice president of community and government affairs and chief DEI officer.
“The 1965 Voting Rights Act was the direct result of Dr. King’s leadership and activism,” said Antoine. “In this forum, we’re going to discuss how those rights are once again being suppressed today and how we can honor Dr. King’s legacy.”
Antoine, who also chairs the Newtown Township Human Relations Commission, is a U.S. Air Force veteran who graduated from the University of Southern Mississippi, earned a law degree from the College of William and Mary, and completed Harvard University’s Administrative Fellowship Program. He is also a member of the U.S. Department of State’s Fulbright Specialist Roster.
