United Way of Bucks County is asking community members to open their hearts to older kids and teens in need this holiday season. The organization’s annual Holiday Gift Card Drive, which runs through Dec. 15, provides gifts for kids who are too old to be served by conventional toy drives.
“When families struggle during the holidays, there’s lots of help for young children, but there are very few options for older kids and teens,” said Marissa Christie, president and CEO of United Way of Bucks County. “By supporting our Holiday Gift Card Drive, you do more than give a present to a tween or teen in need. You ensure that every young person in Bucks County feels valued instead of forgotten this year.”
Christie added that making a direct donation is the most effective way for community members to help. Online donations allow the organization to purchase more gift cards in bulk at a discount, and that means being able to help more kids.
Donations can be made online at uwbucks.org/giftcarddrive or by check, mailed to United Way of Bucks County, 413 Hood Blvd, Fairless Hills, PA 19030, with “Gift Card Drive” written in the memo line.
