Republican candidate for governor visits first responders in Bensalem

Jake Corman stopped by the Nottingham Fire Department

As part of his statewide Restore Freedom Listening Tour, Republican candidate for governor Jake Corman recently stopped by the Nottingham Fire Department in Bensalem. His visit gave him the opportunity to meet with first responders, including police officers, firefighters and rescue crews, to learn more about the challenges they may face.

“Now more than ever, we must stand up for our first responders – police officers, firefighters, rescue crews – who risk their lives every day to ensure the safety of our citizens,” said Corman. “Over the past year, it was devastating, heartbreaking and certainly infuriating to watch our brave police officers come under attack.

“At a time when our law enforcement needed leadership and support, our governor marched in a protest and stood in front of a sign that read, ‘Blue Lives Matter.’

“Let me be clear – a Corman administration will be allies for our first responders. We’ll invest in putting police on the streets and make sure they have the training and tools they need to keep our communities safe. I believe we can support our heroes in law enforcement and deal with social concerns surrounding our communities.”

Corman is a native of Centre County who was first elected to the Pennsylvania Senate in 1998.
