New Hope Celebrates announced its support of the InterPride Solidarity Fund and NERP Scholarship. This donation will allow other LGBTQ+ Pride organizations to plan, develop and organize Pride and other events in their areas.
“NHC is proud to contribute to the InterPride Solidarity fund again this year,” said Matt Hanson, president of New Hope Celebrates. “The Solidarity Fund provides great opportunities for Prides around the world to realize their missions and celebrate in their communities. As a member of the Solidarity Committee of InterPride, I am personally excited to help Prides that need our support.”
The Solidarity Fund finances community-based events worldwide, with a focus on the global south and east, where public LGBTQ+ activities often face discrimination and other public backlash. It assists those struggling in regions that are hostile or challenging for LGBTQ+ organizers. The NERP Scholarship is for Prides and individuals to attend Pride conferences and workshops to strengthen their events and programming. This was created to help smaller Pride events that may not have budgets/resources to pay for registration fees and other costs associated with event planning.
