On Thursday, Dec. 2, at 6:30 p.m., there will be a weatherization webinar with Bahareh van Boekhold, program manager, Applied Energy Group and vice chair of Green Building United; Kathy MacWilliams, manager of marketing programs, PECO; and Kevin Deeny, P.E., Middletown Township Environmental Advisory Council.
Weatherization, or weatherproofing, is the practice of protecting a building and its interior from the elements, particularly from sunlight, precipitation and wind, and of modifying a building to reduce energy consumption and optimize energy efficiency.
A weatherized home uses less energy to heat and cool the home seasonally, which can save homeowners hundreds of dollars per year. Along with saving money, weatherization can also improve the comfort of a home.
