Sesame Place has kicked off the holiday season with A Very Furry Christmas, running through Jan. 2. At this special event, the Langhorne park is transformed into a holiday wonderland with one of the largest light displays in the Northeast featuring millions of twinkling lights and festive decorations.
New events this year include an all-new Christmas Fun Zone, where guests can take part in a new holiday-themed Merry Monster Game Show.
Attendees can also look forward to the return of fan-favorite activities and events, including Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer; 30-foot illuminated Christmas tree; 1-2-3 Christmas Tree Show; Santa’s ‘Twas the Night Celebration on Dec. 24; cookie decorating; festive holiday photo ops; and more.
Guests can enjoy three varieties of hot chocolate – salted caramel topped with whipped cream, caramel sauce and flaky salt; peppermint topped with whipped cream and peppermint flakes; and s’mores topped with chocolate sauce, graham cracker crumbles and mini marshmallows. Other treats include turkey legs, s’mores, gingerbread cookie decorating kits, seasonal frozen cocoa and chocolate-dipped treats. Elmo’s Eatery will serve a vegetarian seasonal grilled cheese and tomato soup. Starbucks will offer Peppermint Mocha.
Guests visiting the park on Nov. 28, and Dec. 3, 4 and 5 can join a Hanukkah celebration, learn about the Jewish Festival of Lights story, listen to traditional music and watch the Menorah Lighting Ceremony. The celebration will be led by a local cantor, Grover and Baby Bear, who celebrate Hanukkah with their families.
Guests can also join Sesame Street friends each night of Kwanzaa, Dec. 26-Jan. 1, for a special storytime and Kinara lighting while learning about the celebrations and principles of Kwanzaa. These special events are included with park admission.
