Cairn to present ‘An Evening of Jazz and Gospel Music’ Nov. 30

The School of Music at Cairn University is presenting “An Evening of Jazz and Gospel Music” on Nov. 30, at 7 p.m. in the chapel auditorium, 200 Manor Ave. in Langhorne. The concert is free and open to the public.

The concert is organized by New York saxophonist Daniel Bennett, who was recently enlisted by the university to lead the jazz program at the school. Bennett travels from Manhattan to Langhorne once a week. He directs the Cairn jazz ensembles and teaches jazz theory, jazz history and composition lessons.

Cairn has built a global reputation as a leader in classical music instruction. The school recently expanded to include jazz education. Bennett is known throughout the world as a touring bandleader and educator.
