The Middletown Township board of supervisors recently passed an ordinance to limit massage parlors used for criminal activity and human trafficking.
Over the past few years, the township has seen an increase in the number of illegal massage establishments. Some make issues such as human trafficking, sexual exploitation and more. Having this ordinance in place will help the township be more proactive in addressing what is becoming a significant issue.
“Enacting this ordinance is taking a proactive approach rather than a traditional reactive approach, as it is much easier to prevent an illegal establishment from opening than it is to close an existing one,” said Chief Joe Bartorilla.
