The annual open enrollment period for Medicare runs through Dec. 7. Medicare beneficiaries can make changes to their Medicare Advantage Plan or Prescription Drug coverage until this date. This is a good time to re-evaluate insurance options to best meet current health needs.
PA MEDI (previously APPRISE) assists in Medicare education and provides unbiased, personalized, confidential counseling by counselors certified by the Pennsylvania Department of Aging. Counseling services are conducted by phone with limited in-person and evening appointments available. Call to make an appointment at 267-880-5700. Hours are Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
PA MEDI may be able to help individuals save money by screening for a variety of discounts and subsidies (including MSP and Extra Help), comparing Medicare plans to help meet individual needs and budgets, and reviewing Medicare Preventive Services to help individuals stay healthy.
