Bucks County Audubon Society announced the following events for October:

Pumpkin Carving

Help BCAS line the trails with Jack-O-Lanterns for its Haunted Trails event by carving a pumpkin at the Pumpkin Carving event on Wednesday, Oct. 13, beginning at 4 p.m. Attendees will receive pizza, refreshments and carving utensils. All you need is yourself, some creativity and a pumpkin. Pumpkins will then go out on the trails. See your carved pumpkin all lit up during the Haunted Trails event on Oct. 16. Due to COVID-19 concerns, BCAS will be setting up pumpkin carving stations. Sessions will be from 4 to 5:30 p.m., 5:30 to 7 p.m. and 7 to 8:30 p.m. Select a time when you register for this event. Masks will be required while inside the Education/Visitor Center. There is no cost to participants (other than a pumpkin) for this program.

Haunted Trails

Join for another Haunted Trails event on Saturday, Oct. 16, beginning at 6 p.m. This fun and family-friendly event is perfect for families with kids ages 4-14 (but definitely can be enjoyed by all). This year, due to COVID-19 concerns, there will be two sessions from 6 to 7 p.m. and 7 to 8 p.m. Groups will go out onto the trails roughly every 30 minutes. While waiting, enjoy storytelling around the campfire, seasonal refreshments and more. Masks are required. Admission is $5/person for BCAS members and $10/person for non-members, or $20/family for BCAS members and $30/family for non-members.

Forest Bathing

Join certified forest therapist Sharon Lohse on Saturday, Oct. 23, from 10 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. to experience a fall forest therapy walk designed to increase sensory awareness in nature, and increase health by decreasing stress and anxiety by wandering slowly through the forests at BCAS. Learn what a “sit spot” is, experience a number of invitations creatively exploring nature and end the class with a tea ceremony. Admission is $30/session per person.

For more information or to register for events, visit BCAS.org, call 215-297-5880 or email bcas@bcas.org. Bucks County Audubon Society is located at 2877 Creamery Road in New Hope.
