A free preschool program is part of Bensalem High School’s Family and Consumer Science Department’s Child Development classes. In this class, the high school students have the opportunity to experience and discover the stages of development in young children, while the preschool students have the opportunity to develop their kindergarten readiness skills, which includes building their literacy and social skills.
Preschool classes run three days a week, Monday, Wednesday and Friday. Parents can choose the morning session (8:30 to 10:30 a.m.) or the afternoon session (11 a.m. to 1 p.m.). Classes begin in late October and end in mid-May. Enrollment is open to children ages 4-5 who are potty trained. Registration must be made by a parent or guardian and will close as soon as the class size limit is met. You must provide your child’s current physical (within one year) and their up-to-date immunization record before the child can attend.
The child must live in the Bensalem Township School District and their parents may not be employed by the school district.
The preschool operates on the high school schedule. If there is no school for high school students, there will be no preschool. There is no district transportation.
