St. Mary Medical Center, part of Trinity Health Mid-Atlantic, was ranked as the 24th “Best Hospital” in Pennsylvania by U.S. News & World Report in its recently revealed 2021-22 rankings. Of the 236 hospitals in Pennsylvania evaluated by U.S. News, St. Mary is among 28 hospitals recognized in the state.
The annual rankings and ratings, now in their 32nd year, are designed to assist patients and their doctors in making informed decisions about where to receive care for challenging health conditions or for common elective procedures.
In the rankings, St. Mary was listed as high performing in six specialties: heart failure, heart attack, diabetes, kidney failure, knee replacement and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease.
Additionally, it was ranked No. 17 on the list of Best Hospitals in the Philadelphia metropolitan area. This metro area includes Camden, New Jersey and Wilmington, Delaware.

For the 2021-22 rankings and ratings, U.S. News evaluated more than 4,750 medical centers nationwide in 15 specialties and 17 procedures and conditions. In the 15 specialty areas, 175 hospitals were ranked in at least one specialty. In rankings by state and metro area, U.S. News recognized hospitals as high performing across multiple areas of care.
