TMA Bucks provides traffic safety programming at Upper Southampton Township Summer Camp

Campers of all ages learned about distracted driving, seatbelt usage and more

The TMA Bucks Community Traffic Safety Program recently provided educational programming for the Upper Southampton Township Parks & Recreation Summer Camp on Wednesday, July 28.

Topics ranged from pedestrian and bike safety to teen driver safety education. There was something provided to camp attendees of all ages.

Younger campers learned about the importance of wearing seatbelts. A demonstration with toys was conducted by Community Traffic Safety Program manager Carly Mannon. A Barbie car with a seatbelt was used to engage the young campers and help them to understand the importance of what could happen when you don’t wear a seatbelt properly.

Teen campers learned about the dangers of distracted driving while playing a game called “distract-a-match,” which is a simple shape and color matching game that helps demonstrate in a fun and engaging way the impact of distractions on reaction time and judgement.

TMA Bucks provides free traffic safety programming for all schools, day cares, camps, businesses and other organizations in Bucks County. Reach out to Mannon at carly@bctma.com or 267-895-5186 to schedule programs.
