After a one-year hiatus due to the COVID-19 pandemic, Lower Southampton Township is again offering its summer day camp program in 2021.

“We are already gearing up for an exciting, enriching and energetic 8-week camp experience for area youngsters, running from June 21 through Aug. 13,” said Walt Mulholland, newly-appointed director of the Lower Southampton Parks and Recreation Department. “This year’s summer day camp will feature a full share of recreational and fun activities, crafts, instructional enrichment and entertaining and exciting cultural excursions. Our programs have been meticulously designed to allow every camper the opportunity to grow and mature through a series of professionally supervised programs and activities embracing physical development, socialization, teamwork and camaraderie.”

Camp will be divided into two age-segmented groups, starting with the Pioneer Camp for children ages 3 to 5 years, which will be located at Russell Elliott Memorial Park on Buck Road. The second group for ages 6 to 13 will be offered at the Dolphin Swim Club, located at 260 W. Bristol Road. There will also be a paid Counselor-in-Training program for teens ages 14 and 15, operated at both camp locations.

“We have immediate job openings for CITs,” said Mulholland.

Those interested are encouraged to register early since space is limited.

Residents of Lower Southampton Township will receive a discount. Residences will need to be verified. Cost is $975 for the season, with a $100 first installment. The non-resident rate is $1,240 per child with a $100 first installment.
