Cairn hosts summer cross country camp

Local students ages 12-18 can participate in the week-long experience in Langhorne

Cairn Cross Country is hosting a Cross Country Running Camp this summer. The week-long experience is for junior and senior high runners of all ability levels.

The camp will take place at Cairn University, 200 Manor Ave., Langhorne, and area trails from July 18-24. Participants ages 12-18 will take part in morning training runs and other workouts by NCAA Division III coaches. An evening run, including one in Philadelphia that ends with a sprint up the famous Rocky steps and a trip to the Philadelphia Museum of Art, is included. The week concludes with admission into the Cairn 5K race at Tyler State Park.

Cairn coaches and guest speakers will lead evening sessions about “The Biblical Virtues of Running.” These sessions can qualify for college credit.

Junior and senior high teams or individual runners are invited. Teams bringing five or more participants receive $50 off per person. Cost includes meals and lodging in Cairn’s residence halls. Cost is $450 per camper; or $750 to receive two college credits.
