Summer Rec Basketball is back this summer in Middletown Township. The organized pickup ball program is open to boys and girls ages 8-17, and intended for beginner to advanced players.

All games are played at night on outdoor courts at Firefighters’ Park. The league is coed. Teams are assigned and schedules are made based on age. Each team plays twice a week on a Monday/Wednesday or Tuesday/Thursday cycle. No team registrations allowed. The schedule is:

– Monday/Wednesday: Ages 8-9 at 6:30 p.m.; age 11 at 7:30 p.m.; ages 13-14 at 8:30 p.m.
– Tuesday/Thursday: Age 10 at 6:30 p.m.; age 12 at 7:30 p.m.; ages 15-17 at 8:30 p.m.

When registering, you can fill out a blank space to let Middletown know any friends your child would like to play with. While the township does take requests, it cannot guarantee all requests will be granted.

Fee is $83; or $97 for non-residents. Late registration fee (after June 6) is $103; or $117 for non-residents. The program runs July 12-Aug. 19.
