Enjoy crafts, a thrift shop and more

Fallsington Library, 139 Yardley Ave., announced the following events and activities:

Grow your own Nasturtium flowers: Kits containing everything you need to grow a Nasturtium, including gravel, soil, sand, flowerpot, seeds, plant i.d. stick and an emery board are available until all are grabbed. Free for all ages, great for teens and adults. First-come, first-served, while supplies last. Sixty kits are available. Call the library during open hours to check if kits are still available at 215-295-4449. The library is open Monday, Wednesday and Friday, from 2 to 5 p.m.; Tuesday and Thursday, from 2 to 8 p.m.; and Saturday, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Wildflower Field Guide: Color your own wildflower booklet (watercolors work great on this paper stock). Then see if you can identify some of the area’s wildflowers when you’re out walking this summer. Free, for all ages, great for teens and adults. First-come, first-served, while supplies last. Sixty kits are available.

Plague Rx Grab & Go Craft Kit: Learn how plague doctors in the Middle Ages tried to protect themselves from the disease. Make your own glass vial with lavender pendant. This kit is not meant for very young children, and pendants should be worn with care by all. Children will need help with the project. Free, best for ages 5 and up, great for teens adults. First-come, first-served, while supplies last.

The Burrow Thrift & Gift Shop: This ongoing fundraiser is open the second Saturday of every month. Offered are new, gently used, vintage and antique treasures, along with hand-made crafts. Held from 9 a.m. to noon in the basement rummage room (walk alongside the ramp toward the back yard). The library accepts donations of new, gently used and hand-made items to include in the sale. Donations can be left in the lobby during open hours. Limit donations to two boxes.

Science in the Summer: Be an Engineer: GSK Science in the Summer is a fun and free science education program sponsored by GSK, in partnership with the Franklin Institute. Kids ages 7 through 13 can register for an online lottery to win a free kit of science materials, which can be picked up at Bucks County Free Libraries. Registration is open through May 21. T-shirt FUNdraiser Sale: Help support the library in style with a custom T-shirt featuring the Book Drop Fox. Unisex sizes range from youth small to adult 2XL. There are also ladies sizes L and XL in blue. Prices are $15 for youth and $20 for adult. Burrow T-shirts are also available in adult sizes only.

Register Receipt Fundraiser: Bring in your receipts from McCaffrey’s Food Markets or Brown Family ShopRite (Oxford Valley Road in Fairless Hills). Drop them into the jar at the library desk. The grocery stores will provide the library with a percentage of what you spend.
