YMCA of Bucks County hosts Bucks 5K Series

Participants may run or walk their 5K distance anytime between May 9-17

YMCA of Bucks County is celebrating the Bucks 5K Series as it celebrates 25+ years in Bucks County. This year, the Y will host the race in a virtual format.

The official race day of “Bucks County Strong 5K” is May 16, but participants may run or walk their 5K distance anytime between May 9-17, tracking time with the running app of their choice. The top three male and female finishers will receive a YMCA duffle/gym bag.

“We are thrilled that the Bucks 5K Series will take place this year,” said Michele Zosulis, race director. “The Y is offering our race in a unique, virtual format as we hopefully near the end of pandemic restrictions in Pennsylvania.”

Proceeds from the race will benefit the Y’s Operation Compassion Recovery Fund, benefiting the community with financial assistance, homeless showers and meals, and child care, funded through the generosity of donors.

Series sponsors include Advanced Spine and Sports Chiropractic, Fred Beans Family of Dealerships, Marvic Supply, Bucks County Orthopedic Specialists, Marshall Financial Group, Penn Community Bank, Bucks County Road Runners, Jarrett Vaughan Builders, Mind Your Design, Delaware Valley University and Doylestown Health. In addition to series sponsors, GMG is recognized for its support of the 2021 race.

Race registration is now open at ymcabucks.org/5K2021 and closes after May 9. Registration is $35 in advance. For additional questions, contact Zosulis at [email protected].
