Cairn introduces new cybersecurity major

The program offers undergraduate students the opportunity to gain skills needed to specialize in protecting against cyber attacks

Cairn University, 200 Manor Ave., Langhorne, is actively seating its first class of cybersecurity majors for fall 2021.

Housed in the university’s School of Business, the new cybersecurity major offers undergraduate students the opportunity to gain the knowledge and skills necessary to specialize in protecting against cyber attacks. The cybersecurity curriculum requires more programming courses than its information systems major counterpart, including in-depth instruction on how attackers can get into networks and how to stop them.

Stopping information theft and promoting technological safety have become increasingly important, and organizations everywhere are looking to keep their growing computer systems secure. Cairn’s cybersecurity major offers students the theoretical knowledge and practical skills that employers are looking for. Additionally, the university’s distinct commitment to biblical integration means students will develop in personal character and integrity – another vital and sought-after trait for today’s workforce.

This major can be paired with an MBA through the Cybersecurity (BS) + MBA dual-level program. Students have the opportunity to earn both a bachelor’s and master’s degree in as few as five years, all while qualifying for undergraduate financial aid.
