Silver Lake Nature Center, 1306 Bath Road, Bristol, announced the following events for the month of April:

Saturday Morning Bird Walks are offered through May at 7:30 a.m. Free. Meet outside of the SLNC Visitors’ Center at the Welcome Kiosk near the parking area.

Free Guided Walk on the SNLC Trails take place Sundays, April 11 and 25, from 2 to 3 p.m. Join for a leisurely and informative walk covering seasonal topics. Meet outside of the SLNC Visitors’ Center at the kiosk near the parking area. Register online or by phone.

Bird Seed Sale Pick-Up (for orders placed by April 10) takes place Saturday, April 17, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Bird watching is more fun when you can attract them to your own yard, so fill your feeders with one of SLNC’s special mixes. Friends of SLNC Members receive a 10 percent discount on all bird seed orders. Place your order online or by phone.

Bristol Photographers Club 47th Annual Photo Contest drop-off dates are Saturday, April 17, from noon to 4 p.m.; Sunday, April 18, from noon to 2 p.m.; and Wednesday, April 21, from 6 to 8:30 p.m. For more information, contact president Heather Baker at [email protected] or visit bristolphotographersclub.com.

Earthship Tours are Saturday, April 24, from 1 to 2:30 p.m. Free. Stop by to visit and learn about these interesting, sustainable structures.

Volunteer Work Day takes place Saturday, May 1, from 9 a.m. to noon. Help SLNC maintain its grounds. Be prepared to get wet and dirty. Bring a refillable water bottle. This event is rain or shine. Register online or by calling Arden Williams at 215-785-1177.

Charlie Zahm & Tad Marks Concert – A Tribute to John Denver & the Great Outdoors takes place Saturday, May 8, at 7:30 p.m. Returning for another concert is Charlie Zahm on vocals and guitar and Tad Marks on fiddle. The concert is set to take place at SLNC’s outdoor amphitheater. Ticket holders will be notified if there are any changes due to weather. Tickets are available in advance for $15 online or by phone. Prices are the same for all ages. No refunds/exchanges unless the event is canceled by SNLC. Space is very limited for this event; tickets available in advance only.

Registration is open for SLNC’s Summer Nature Camp, which runs Monday, June 21 through Friday, Aug. 27, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. For ages 5-14. Before/after care options available. The Trails at SLNC are open daily, from sunrise to sunset. It’s free to come out and explore the Trails on your own.
