Family Service thanks sponsors of upcoming homeless shelter benefit

The virtual event kicks off April 8 and continues for two weeks

Throughout the COVID-19 pandemic, Family Service Association of Bucks County’s Emergency Homeless Shelter in Levittown has seen its waiting list and expenses grow. Therefore, the organization is grateful for sponsors that have stepped up to support its annual fundraiser, which kicks off virtually on Thursday, April 8.

The top sponsor for the event is the Impact Sponsor, Quality Resourcing Services (Linda and Cliff Davis), followed by Penn Community Bank as the Building Sponsor and Johnson & Johnson as the Health & Social Work Services Sponsor.

Meal Sponsors include Bernadette Handler, Carolyn & Jeff Fogel, J.G. Petrucci Company, Kampi Components, Kessler Topaz Meltzer & Check, NJM Insurance Group and Truist. COVID-19 PPE Sponsors include Glenmede, Gens & Associates, and The Solidarity Project.

These sponsorships will allow the Emergency Homeless Shelter to continue to provide support and services to the individuals and families that call it a temporary home. At any given time, there are 80 to 90 residents, at least a third of whom are children under the age of 18.

The services provided by Family Service to their residents include health screenings and referrals, counseling, case management, job training and resources, transportation to interviews, appointments and employment, and more as staff works with each resident toward the goal of permanent housing.

The virtual benefit kicks off on Zoom and Facebook Live on Thursday, April 8, at 6 p.m. The benefit will continue for two weeks with all proceeds going to the shelter.
