With many vacation options being canceled over the past year due to COVID-19 restrictions, recreational vehicle (RV) sales and first-time RV buyers have increased dramatically. In order to help those who are new to RVing, as well as long-time RVers, Middletown Township Police Department is offering several RV inspection and education opportunities.
Traffic Safety and Commercial Vehicle Inspection Officers will inspect RVs and towing vehicles for any safety concerns, including weighing and camping units to ensure they are following weight requirements and provide advice and guidance on how to correct any safety concerns discovered. MTPD will not be issuing citations for any violations noted, but will rather educate and inform RVers of potential safety concerns so they may remedy them.
The inspections will be held in the front parking lot of the Middletown Township Police Department building, 5 Municipal Way, on Saturday, April 10, from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Inspections will take about 30 minutes and will be scheduled by appointment in order to minimize wait times.
To schedule an inspection time, contact Captain Pete Feeney at 215-750-3879 or [email protected].
