The BennettStrong Foundation is hosting a virtual gala on Saturday, March 27, at 7 p.m., in place of its annual in-person gala, which was canceled last month due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
This year, BennettStrong teamed up with GSM Charity Auctions to host the event’s auction and raffle. The auction, along with the raffle items, are open now and will close one hour after the virtual event. To access the online auction/raffle, visit bennettstrong.afrogs.org/#/index.
The annual gala is a fundraiser to help raise funds for the foundation’s N/IICU parent survival kits – a project the foundation has been working on in conjunction with Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia for the past three years.
Each kit includes pens and a journal, which parents can utilize in a variety of ways. They can jot down medications, names of doctors, and information about the often confusing diagnoses. Parents can also keep track of special milestones and upcoming events in their child’s journey.
The kits also include helping cloth hearts. The hearts are provided upon admission to help with bonding between baby and family members, breastmilk production for mom, and positive sensory input for babies.
All proceeds from the virtual gala fundraiser will go toward the foundation’s parent survival kits. Last year, BennettStrong raised more than any other previous gala to help continue the funding of the kits.
