Middletown Township announces spring break programming

Local youth can learn archery and skateboarding

Middletown Township announced the following programs for spring break:

Archery Spring Fling

Connect with nature and ancestors in what may become the beginning of a child’s love for outdoor recreational adventures. This half-day archery clinic is geared for archers ages 6-17, with skill sets from beginner through advanced. Archers will learn range safety, shooting techniques and how to successfully hit targets. They’ll also enjoy the following activities: moving balloon targets, 3D targets and more. At the end of the week, archers will shoot in a real tournament for score and each archer will receive awards. S.S.A.A. will provide certified archery instruction and state-of-the-art archery equipment, including traditional recurve bows and genesis compound bows. Participants should bring a water bottle/snack and wear closed-toe shoes.

Dates are Monday, March 29 to Thursday, April 1, from 9 a.m. to noon, at the Community Park. Cost is $185; $195 for non-residents.

Skateboard Spring Break Camp

Participants will learn the basics of skateboarding, such as how to get on/off a board safely. As the week goes on, they’ll explore different types of rams and tricks with instructors. Not only will participants learn skateboarding in a fun and safe way, they’ll learn how to overcome failure, build self confidence and express themselves in a positive way. Taught by instructors from Skate the Foundry. Helmets required. Program for ages 6-13.

Dates are Monday, March 29 to Friday, April 2, from 9 a.m. to noon, at the Middletown Skate Park. Cost is $350; $400 for non-residents.
