Vetri Community Partnership is a nonprofit organization that provides culinary and nutrition education programs to people of all ages throughout the Philadelphia area. These programs empower children and families to lead healthier lives through fresh food, hands-on experiences and education.
Join in on these flavorful workshops covering delicious recipes that open your eyes to nutrition, while creating them with your family using your own equipment and food. Supply list and recipes will be sent out after you register.
– Wednesday, April 7, from 5 to 6:30 p.m. – Breakfast: Carrot cake pancakes with cinnamon applesauce; topics will include incorporating fruits and vegetables, added sugars/reading nutrition labels, freezing pancakes for quick weekday options
– Wednesday, May 5, from 5 to 6:30 p.m. – Lunch: Chimichurri pasta salad; topics will include preparing the dish as a hot and cold version, seasonality of vegetables, sodium and added sugar in salad dressings/reading nutrition labels
– Wednesday, June 2, from 5 to 6:30 p.m. – Dinner: Zucchini and cheese quesadillas and corn and black bean salsa; topics will include benefits of using canned, fresh and frozen ingredients, benefits of fiber, video on how to make homemade corn tortillas
