Bucks County Community College’s Wordsmiths Reading Series continues April 16

Bucks County Community College’s Wordsmiths Reading Series invites the public to hear award-winning poets Maggie Smith and Cleveland Wall read from their works on Friday, April 16, at 7:30 p.m.

Hosted by program director Ethel Rackin, the reading series is presented live on the college’s YouTube channel, YouTube.com/BucksCCC. The event is free and registration is needed.

Smith is the author of four award-winning books, including Good Bones – named by the Washington Post as one of the Five Best Poetry Books of 2017 – and the national bestseller Keep Moving: Notes on Loss, Creativity and Change. Her latest collection of poems, Goldenrod, will be released in July. Her poem “Good Bones” was called the “Official Poem of 2016” by Public Radio International and has been translated into nearly a dozen languages.

Smith’s poems have appeared in the New York Times, Tin House, The Believer, The Paris Review, Kenyon Review, Best American Poetry, and on the CBS primetime drama Madam Secretary. A Pushcart Prize winner, Smith has received fellowships and awards from the National Endowment for the Arts, the Academy of American Poets, the Ohio Arts Council, and the Sustainable Arts Foundation. Wall is a poet, editor and teaching artist who performs with the poetry improv troupe No River Twice and with the poetry/guitar musical combo The Starry Eyes.
