Bensalem Township Parks & Recreation invites all Bensalem girls in grades 1-8 to sign up and play junior field hockey. All girls who are new will receive an official field hockey stick, ball, mouth guard and shin guards to keep as their own ($80). There will be practices one night a week for an hour, from 6 to 7 p.m. Games will be held on Saturday mornings at the Firefighters Field, 80 Rockhill Drive. This program runs April through early June.
For a registration form, call 215-633-3614. Cost is $80 for all new girls, or girls who need new equipment; $50 for girls who do not need equipment. Make check payable to Bensalem Township. A $10 late registration fee will apply to anyone who registers after March 12. All registrations received after March 12 will have to supply their own equipment.
Additionally, the Bensalem Ramblers are accepting in-person sign-ups for baseball and softball through March 13, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., at the Ramblers Clubhouse. Ages 3-18. Travel ball available. New indoor training facility at 2010 Hulmeville Road. Games start April 10. Coaches and volunteers wanted.
Divisions for baseball are: Little Sluggers (ages 3-4), $60 for first child, $30 each additional child in the same household; Peanuts (ages 5-6), $80 for first child, $40 each additional; Rookies (ages 7-8), $90 for first child, $45 each additional child; Minors (ages 9-10), $90 for first child, $45 each additional child; Majors (ages 10-12), $100 for first child, $50 each additional child; and American Legion (ages 13-18), $150 starting, additional fees per program.
Divisions for softball are: Minors (ages 5-10), $80 for first child, $40 each additional child; and Majors (ages 11-12), $90 for first child, $45 each additional child.
