Bucks hosts ‘Parents Night In’ Feb. 23

The online information session will help parents and guardians guide crucial decisions about choosing an affordable college

Bucks County Community College invites parents and guardians to a “Parents Night In” on Tuesday, Feb. 23, from 7 to 8 p.m.

The free event takes place online using the Zoom video conferencing tool. After registering for the event, those who log in will meet academic department deans, financial aid representatives, advising and transfer staff, as well as members of the Bucks Admissions team.

“A lot has changed in the past year, and we understand any uncertainty there may be surrounding the decision to attend college,” said Marlene Barlow, director of admissions at the public, two-year college. “Whether your child is already considering Bucks or they are planning to go to another college or university, this session is open to the entire community to support you as you weigh your options.”

Bucks offers more than 80 programs of study in seven academic departments – Arts, Business & Innovation, Health Sciences, Kinesiology & Sport Studies, Language & Literature, and Social & Behavioral Sciences. Programs lead to either a two-year associate degree or shorter-term certificate.

“Considering the drastic changes many have faced this year amid a global health crisis, families might like to learn why Bucks is the best choice, where your student can stay close to home, but still go far,” said Barlow.

Tuition is currently $165 a credit for Bucks County residents. Credits transfer to most four-year colleges and universities. To register for “Parents Night In,” go to bucks.edu and select “register now” on the home page. A link to the event will be emailed upon registration. To learn more, email admissions@bucks.edu.
