Rep. KC Tomlinson (R-Bucks) has been named chair of the House Human Services Subcommittee on Drugs and Alcohol.
“This is a special honor and great responsibility as I’ll be dealing with issues that are very close to my heart as I’ve witnessed the great pain caused by drug and alcohol abuse,” said Tomlinson. “The subcommittee will investigate the tremendous challenges caused by the opioid crisis, among other pressing issues. We must make sure the state has the best programs available to help those facing addiction.”
The House Human Services Committee is responsible for considering legislation that pertains to the needs of those with special needs, as well as child welfare services, foster care, child care, adoption assistance, and issues regarding drug and alcohol dependence.
“Rep. Tomlinson is the ideal choice for this position as I have worked closely with her, understand her sensibilities and respect her judgement,” said Rep. Frank Farry (R-Bucks).
“I am confident Rep. Tomlinson will guide the right legislation through the committee to the benefit of all Pennsylvanians,” said Speaker Bryan Cutler (R-Lancaster).
