Crunch Fitness hosts virtual 5K, proceeds fight against hunger

$3,000 was donated to Action Against Hunger

Crunch Fitness in Fairless Hills recently completed its first annual Virtual 5K Turkey Trot. The event raised over $3,000 through local participation that was donated directly to Action Against Hunger – a nonprofit global humanitarian organization.

The nonprofit takes decisive action against the causes and effects of hunger. It saves the lives of malnourished children and ensures everyone can access clean water, food, training and healthcare. Action Against Hunger served more than 17 million people in 46 countries.

Participants ran the race on their own schedule, whether socially distanced outside or on a dedicated Crunch Fitness treadmill. Each runner was given a custom event T-shirt and race medal for the completion of their race.

“Our top goal through these times is to keep people healthy and safe,” said Julian, general manager at Crunch. “Our Virtual 5K kept people moving and helped a great organization that is on the ground fighting this pandemic.”
