KleinLife, located at 10100 Jamison Avenue in far Northeast Philadelphia, is participating in the 2020 Subaru Share the Love event as a member of Meals on Wheels America.
“Subaru of America will donate $250 to Meals on Wheels America for every new Subaru purchased or leased from now through Jan. 4, 2021. We are excited to be part of the campaign for the eighth straight year,” said Andre Krug, president and CEO of KleinLife.
“In addition, Meals on Wheels America has always been a great support for our Home Delivered Meals Program and because of the additional support provided by Subaru of America, we have been able to continue our efforts to prepare and deliver 70,000 nutritious meals annually to seniors in Philadelphia, Bucks and Montgomery counties who cannot shop or cook for themselves.”
One-in-four seniors live alone in isolation, and one-in-seven might not know from where or when their next meal is coming. This, said Krug, is unacceptable and why KleinLife continues to provide nutritious meals, friendly visits and safety checks to area seniors. This vital support helps keep them in their homes where they want and are happy to be.
“Meals on Wheels America is proud to partner with Subaru of America for the 13th consecutive year to enable more seniors to live with independence and dignity,” said Ellie Hollander, president and CEO of Meals on Wheels America. “Since 2008, the Subaru Share the Love event has helped to deliver more than 2.3 million meals and friendly visits to vulnerable seniors nationwide. We are enormously grateful to Subaru and its retailers for their long-standing commitment to Meals on Wheels and the millions of seniors who depend on it for nourishment and companionship.”
Over the last decade, Subaru of America and its participating retailers have donated $176 million to charity partners. This year’s Share the Love event is on track to bring that total to more than $200 million.
