Pennsylvanians can ask job search and unemployment questions during Pennsylvania Department of Labor & Industry’s 24th virtual town hall, on Thursday, Nov. 5, form 1 to 2 p.m.
A livestream will be online at access.live/PAlabor. Those without internet access can listen by calling 1-833-380-0719, however phone lines are limited so they should be reserved for individuals who need them.
Participants using the phone lines can ask questions directly of UC experts. Individuals live streaming the town hall can submit typed questions that will be read to the expert by a moderator. To protect participants’ personal confidential information, detailed answers about individual claim questions cannot be answered during the town hall.
Additionally, L&I recently noticed an influx of PIN reset requests. While legitimate claimants may need to reset their PIN occasionally, this sudden surge of requests raised suspicion of fraud because many accompanied a change in address. L&I believes fraudsters are changing claimants’ PINs and rerouting them to addresses where they can be taken and used by the fraudsters to access claimants’ accounts.
As a fraud prevention measure, L&I is now only sending PIN change requests to the address from which the claimant files their claim. If a claimant needs to change both their PIN and their address, they must contact the UC Service Center at 888-313-7284 and provide additional identity verification.
Claimants are reminded to never give their PIN, username or password to anyone. L&I staff members will never contact a claimant and ask for their username, password, PIN or full Social Security number.
