St. Mary Physicians Group recently welcomed general surgeon Jessica R. Barton, DO, MS, and colorectal surgeon Esther H. Cha, MD, to St. Mary Surgical Associates Langhorne.
Barton completed her undergraduate education at Penn State University in University Park, and earned her medical degree from Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine in Philadelphia. Barton completed an ACGME-accredited general surgery residency at Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine and served as academic chief resident for her residency program.
She is a member of the American College of Surgeons, Society of American Gastrointestinal and Endoscopic Surgeons, Association of Women Surgeons and American Society of Colon and Rectal Surgeons.
Barton specializes in general and minimally invasive surgical procedures, including laparoscopic and robotic techniques, to treat conditions such as benign and malignant diseases of the abdomen, hernias and skin/soft tissue diseases.
Cha received her medical degree from Virginia Commonwealth University School of Medicine in Richmond, Virginia. She completed an internship and residency in general surgery at Medstar Union Memorial Hospital in Baltimore, Maryland, and obtained her advanced subspecialty training in Colorectal Surgery at the Colon and Rectal Clinic of Orlando in Orlando, Florida.
Cha is a colorectal surgeon specializing in minimally invasive surgical techniques including laparoscopic, robotic and endoscopic surgeries. She performs colorectal surgical procedures for benign and malignant disease, including techniques in transanal minimally invasive surgery for sphincter preservation and surgery for inflammatory bowel disease. Cha is fluent in English and Korean.
