The Transport Workers Union of America has endorsed U.S. Rep. Brian Fitzpatrick.
“Now more than ever, it is imperative we stand up and fight for our essential workers who have been tirelessly working for our community. I am committed to supporting our transportation system and all the members who we rely on to keep it running,” Fitzpatrick said.
The Transport Workers Union of America represents more than 150,000 members across the airline, railroad, transit, universities, utilities and services sectors.
“In the face of the ongoing pandemic, our members are especially appreciative of your tireless efforts to protect essential workers,” TWU international president John Samuelsen wrote to Fitzpatrick. “You have been a vocal proponent of ensuring all essential workers receive the necessary personal protective equipment to be safe and healthy on the job. You have repeatedly led your colleagues in actions to provide emergency funds for transit agencies, airlines and Amtrak in order to keep our transportation systems running and our members on the job.”
