Grundy Library, Boy Scouts teamed up to restock local pantry

The collection in August netted over 360 pounds of food for the Bristol Borough Community Action Food Pantry

Boy Scout Troop and Cub Scout Pack 212 and the Margaret R. Grundy Memorial Library, 680 Radcliffe St., Bristol, teamed up again this summer to assist neighbors who are struggling with food insecurity and hunger.

The troop of dedicated scouts collected nonperishable foods on Saturday, Aug. 29 to replenish the shelves at the Bristol Borough Community Action Food Pantry, located at 99 Wood St., Bristol. Troop leaders estimated the collection netted over 360 pounds for hungry individuals and families.

Hours for the pantry are: Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.; Friday, from 10 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Call the pantry at 215-785-3296 for more information.
